Beset on two fronts, Bashar Assad rushed his elite Presidential Guard Division to Damascus Thursday, May 10, as two massive car bombs in the al Qaza district of Damascus demolished the command center of the Syrian military security service’s reconnaissance division, killing 55 people and injuring more than 300. Over to the southeast, 12,000 special operations troops from 17 nations, including the US and other NATO members, Saudi Arabia and Qatar, were poised on the Jordanian side of the Syrian border for an exercise codenamed “Eager Lion.”

debkafile’s military sources also disclose that the bomb attack on Damascus was the most serious his regime had suffered against a military target since the 14-month Syrian uprising began. For the first time, Assad moved his most loyal unit, the Republican Guard Brigade, into central Damascus.
Western and Arab pressure is building up to an intolerable pitch for the Syrian president to step down and save his people from the descent into the ultimate agony of a full-blown civil war. It is coming from two directions:
1. Special forces units of the US, France, Britain, Canada and other NATO members have gathered in Jordan alongside Saudi, Jordanian and Qatari special units for a large-scale ten-day military exercise in Jordan starting May 15.
The exercise was set up by the US Special Operations Command Central. It is the Obama administration’s message to the Islamic rulers of Iran, Bashar Assad and his Moscow backers, as well as its answer to the complaints from Arab and other Western governments that America is doing nothing to stop the horrors perpetrated in Syria.
Since all 12,000 troops massed in Jordan are commandos, they stand ready at all times to cross the border into Syria if this is deemed necessary.
2. Syrian cities, especially the capital, are being targeted for violent bombing attacks designed to bring the Assad regime tumbling down. Behind these attacks are Persian Gulf emirates led by Saudi Arabia and Qatar. debkafile’s intelligence sources disclose they have been joined in the last few days for the first time by Turkey which is contributing intelligence input. The military pressure on the Assad regime is thus reinforced by a campaign of terror against its props.
No connection is admitted between the multinational force on the Jordanian-Syrian border and the spate of bombings. However, if Saudi or Qatari intelligence did play a hand in the Damascus bombings, their special forces in Jordan will have been in the picture.

Iran’s Navy has the ability to deploy its vessels three miles off the US east coast, a high-ranking Iranian Navy commander was quoted as saying by the Fars news agency. ”Our naval forces are so powerful that we have a presence in all the waters of the world and, if needed, we can move to within three miles of New York,” Revolutionary Guards Navy Commander Rear Admiral Ali Fadavi was quoted as saying during a speech to students at the University of Yazd earlier this week.

Fadavi said dominance in the Persian Gulf is “the only tool for the Americans to rule the world,” charging that this prompts the US to “confront any other power that threatens their status.” Meanwhile, Revolutionary Guards Aerospace Commander Brigadier General Amir Ali Hajizadeh said. ”First, sinking an aircraft carrier is not a complicated task,” Hajizadeh said. “Second, an aircraft carrier is equipped with so many advanced, delicate, and sensitive devices … that it could be incapacitated by even the smallest explosion.” Earlier, Fox News reported that the US military has deployed several F-22 fighter jets to an allied base less than 200 miles (320 km) from Iran. According to the report, the US Air Force strongly denied ordering the deployment s a show of force against Iran, or that it is in some way related to a potential strike on the Islamic Republic’s nuclear facilities. It claimed the measure is part of routine activity and “security cooperation with regional partners.”

Despite the recent declaration by Iran that it does not want a nuclear bomb and statements by regime officials that they are willing to negotiate over the nuclear issue, indications from within Iran signal massive preparation for an all-out war as part of its destiny.

Nine years ago a Revolutionary Guards arm, the Holy Defense, published a book, “The Last Six Months,” in which it describes the conditions needed in the last six months prior to the reappearance of the last Islamic messiah. The book was distributed in the hundreds of thousands to all Guards, Basij and army bases throughout the country.

Islam’s Shiites believe their 12th Imam, Mahdi, will reappear at the end of times and kill all the infidels, raising the flag of Islam in all four corners of the world.

The book admonishes the military forces that they must be prepared to do their duties during those six months and that there will be many signs to help the faithful to understand the transition, which will center on Iran.

The book, which relies on Islamic hadiths by the Prophet Mohammad and his descendants from centuries ago, describes the 9/11 attacks and the invasions of Afghanistan and Iraq as signs that the time is near. But it also prophesies much more significant signs that would launch the six-month time frame for the reappearance of Mahdi: an attack on Syria and then an attack on Iran.

Both those events are looking increasingly likely as Syria’s Bashar al-Assad continues to murder his own people and Iran continues its quest for nuclear weapons.

Mahdi will only reappear, Shiites believe, when Israel is destroyed and the U.S. is brought to its knees; two-thirds of the world’s population will die in a nuclear exchange, and with this chaos and havoc engulfing the earth, the “coming” will unfold.

As revealed in the Iranian secret documentary “The Coming Is Upon Us,” it is believed within the Islamic regime that the supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, is the historical figure as claimed in a hadith who will rise up against the infidels and pass the flag of Islam to Imam Mahdi, the last Islamic messiah.

According to a source who served in the Guards’ intelligence – he has defected to a country in Europe – billions of dollars have been spent on the military forces to emphasize this very ideology of the coming as well as preparation for an all-out war.

Thousands of terrorist cells consisting of the most loyal are placed throughout the world, and they believe Iran will be a key player in creating the circumstances for the coming.

The Islamic regime fully expects to be attacked, the source says. Its leaders believe this will happen as foretold in centuries-old hadiths and written in the book “The Last Six Months.” Response contingencies call for simultaneous attacks on Israel, Saudi Arabia and the Gulf States, and attacks not only on U.S. bases in the region but the U.S. homeland.

The Islamic regime has already mastered nuclear technology and currently has enough enriched uranium, verified by the IAEA, for six nuclear bombs. It also has ballistic missiles capable of reaching every country in the Middle East and many capitals in Europe but is also working, with the help of China and North Korea, on intercontinental ballistic missiles.

An internal IAEA document from 2009 shows that Khamenei, as early as 1984, was pushing for nuclear bombs, stating that, “This was the only way to secure the very essence of the Islamic Revolution from the schemes of its enemies, especially the United States and Israel, and to prepare it for the emergence of Imam Mahdi.”

Of utmost concern is that Iran likely has nuclear weapons already even as it works to create more. As reported in October, Iranian agents scoured the former Soviet republics after the fall of the Soviet Union in search of buying existing nuclear bombs, offering hundreds of millions of dollars. As verified with sources at the State Department, a former U.S. intelligence officer and a Russian general, the Iranians have at least two workable nuclear warheads.

The source in the Guards’ intelligence said he was informed in secret briefings while in the Guards that they had two nuclear bombs, though he could not attest if they were viable. But what he verified next was further terrifying: Iran has neutron bombs, thanks to its North Korea ally.

A neutron bomb is a tactical nuclear weapon invented during the Cold War to kill people with neutron radiation, while minimizing damage to buildings.

“However, a neutron warhead is more accurately described as, and is officially called, an Enhanced Radiation Warhead because it produces large quantities of all kinds of radiation – including gamma rays – that generate the electromagnetic pulse (EMP) effect at high altitude,” according to Dr. Peter Vincent Pry, executive director of the Task Force on National and Homeland Security, which advises Congress.

“So if a neutron bomb, or more properly ERW, is detonated at high altitude, above 30 kilometers, it becomes an enhanced EMP weapon, a strategic weapon that could generate a powerful EMP, destroying electronics and collapsing the critical infrastructures that support the lives of millions of people over vast geographic areas,” Pry said.

As verified by the IAEA, the Guards have launched ballistic missiles from ships and detonated warheads over the earth’s surface. Those tests have only one purpose: create an EMP attack, whether by nuclear or neutron bomb. As revealed last year, the Guards have now armed their naval vessels with ballistic missiles and plan on deploying warships in the Atlantic Ocean.

Studies show that a successful EMP attack could destroy electric power, telecommunications, transportation, banking and finance, and food and water across the continental United States.

The Congressional EMP Commission estimated that, given current U.S. unpreparedness, one year after an EMP attack, about two-thirds of the U.S. population, 200 million people, would have perished from starvation, disease or societal collapse.

As the West continues to negotiate with the leaders of the Islamic regime in Iran, even accepting their nuclear program for “peaceful purposes,” one thing is ominously lacking: an understanding of their ideology.

Shabbat Shalom! I just came across this article and my initial reaction was to vomit…as I read, “Professor David Capes says the Bible “is probably the most owned and least read book out there. That’s because, for many, it’s too difficult to understand.”” Ok, I get it, Americans are REALLY LAZY and most can’t read for more than 3 minutes without falling asleep, but seriously how many times do we have to water down Scripture? When should we say enough diluting the Word…OR…should we look at where people are and think, “Hmm, most people have less than a 15 minute attention span…let’s just put this into Cliff Notes and call it a day?” Do versions of Scripture like “The Message, the Paraphrased Amplified Bible, and The Voice” help spread the Gospel of Yeshua or hinder the Kingdom? Thoughts?

Countless tanks, self-propelled artillery, thousands of trucks and tank transporters are constantly on the move from one rebel flashpoint to another, reinforcing embattled units and ferrying troops, equipment and ammunition.

Iran covers the payroll for military and security personnel and the government bodies keeping the regime functioning – to the tune of more than half a billion dollars a month, according to estimates. But the embargo on fuel sales to Syria puts Assad in the hands of Lebanese merchants. He has run out of funds to meet their exorbitant charges for petrol and diesel, without which his military crackdown on the opposition would grind to a stop. Russia and China have therefore been asked for the necessary funding. Moscow, meanwhile, announced Friday, April 13, “A decision has been made to deploy Russian warships near the Syrian shores on a permanent basis.” The communiqué did not say who made the decision, but it may be assumed that the decision-maker is at the top level of the Kremlin, President-elect Vladimir Putin. It is the first time that Moscow has officially announced the permanent deployment of naval vessels in the eastern Mediterranean and off Syria in particular. They also guarantee that the UN observer team, due in Damascus by Monday, April 16, never becomes the nucleus of a broader international expedition for Assad’s removal under the UN aegis, which is what happened in Libya. Moscow is making sure that the monitors adhere strictly to their Security Council mandate, determined not to leave it Washington or NATO to set out their areas of operation and powers. Assad drove this point home Sunday when ahead of their arrival in Damascus, he warned that he would not be responsible for the observers’ safety if they failed to comply with his rules

Western and Israeli military circles therefore find it hard to understand the rationale of the US and Turkish push for international monitors in Syria, unless the initiative was nothing more than a device to save them having to intervene militarily in the conflict. In the final reckoning, the presence of a couple of hundred UN monitors in Syria will if anything prolong the violence: the rebels will regard the observers as the vanguard of a major international intervention force to champion their cause, while Assad and Moscow will clip their wings so as to give the Syrian army a free hand to finish the job of wiping out the anti-Assad revolt. Between the two, the UN team will be rendered useless like the Arab League monitors before them. Seeing Russia and China solidly behind him, the Syria ruler expects them also to put their hands in their pockets to help him survive.

Tuesday night, April 10, after Damascus skipped the truce laid down in the UN-Arab envoy Kofi Annan’s plan and escalated its attacks on the Syrian population, a change of tone was detected in the Obama administration. debkafile’s Washington sources report that, although President Barack Obama is still flat against broad US military intervention in Syria, administration circles feel America could no longer stay aloof from what is happening there. They are thinking in terms of limited military action to show Bashar Assad and the heads of his regime and army the first American red lines against his brutal crackdown. One plan under discussion is for a US air strike against an Assad regime and/or military target would be enough to dent morale in Damascus and demonstrate to his loyal troops and the Syrian opposition that the Syrian ruler is far from infallible. This lesson might corner Assad into complying with Annan’s six-point peace plan, especially the ceasefire and withdrawal of armored troops from Syrian cities, which he ducked Tuesday. The pretext Syrian Foreign Minister Walid Moallem offered Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov for missing the deadline, our Moscow sources report, was that when the soldiers are pulled out of the cities, rebel forces will move into the evacuated areas; the anti-Assad uprising would flare up again at full strength across Syria.

Moallem appealed to his host to persuade the Americans to continue to abstain from military action in Syria and defend the need for Syrian units to remain in the main cities, even against a complaint by Annan to the UN Security Council accusing Damascus of flouting an agreed plan. In consideration of this side play in Moscow, Annan was cautious in his comments to reporters on his visit to a Syrian refugee camp in southern Turkey, saying it was too soon to declare his plan a failure. He explained that the Syrian regime had not taken issue with a single one of his six proposals and the situation could improve once UN observers were on the ground. Annan offered Assad another two days up until Thursday, April 12, to implement the agreed ceasefire. Talking to reporters In Moscow alongside Moallem, Lavrov proposed that UN observers move into Syria without delay. The team could be enlisted mainly from the UNDOF (United Nations Disengagement Observer Force) serving on the Syrian-Israeli Golan border. The Syrian minister was not in favor of the plan.

Tuesday night, the UN Security Council called on Bashar Assad to meet the Thursday deadline for a truce. US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton announced the council would meet Thursday to hear Annan’s report. She spoke after consulting with Lavrov. The Lavrov proposal would redeploy the main body of the Golan UN force, which maintains a liaison office in Damascus, in positions for enforcing the truce between Syrian and rebel forces in Syria’s main embattled cities, preferably by April 12. The UN 1,000-strong force has two battalions, one Austrian and one Philippine, and a small Croatian unit. Our intelligence sources report that Assad objects to the plan because it would be tantamount to internationalizing the civil war raging in Syria and pave the way for rebels and protesters against his regime to gain UN protection. Convinced that the Syrian ruler would never allow himself to be pushed into accepting UN intervention, the Americans continue to keep limited military intervention on the table. They will let it simmer there until the Six-Power nuclear talks with Iran beginning Saturday, April 14, in Istanbul are well under way, so as not to give Tehran pretexts for toughening its bargaining position or pulling out of the negotiations.

Turkey too is moving closer than ever before to real military action, not just empty words. Armed Turkish assault helicopters flew Tuesday over the Syrian border. They were there to warn Damascus that if Syrian soldiers again fired across the border into Syrian refugee camps as they did Monday, April 9, they would be targeted by the Turkish gunships. Sources in Ankara reminded local and Arab media of the existence of the mutual defense cooperation pact known as the “Adana agreement” which Turkey and Syria concluded in 1998. Article 1 states that “Syria, on the basis of the principle of reciprocity, will not permit any activity that emanates from its territory aimed at jeopardizing the security and stability of Turkey.” Under this article, Ankara feels Turkish military intervention in Syria is legitimate. This reminder was offered the media, our military sources confirm, to provide the legal grounding for a potential Turkish military move across its border into Syria.

DAMASCUS, (SANA) – Under the patronage of President Bashar al-Assad, activities of the Scholars of Levant conference to Support al-Quds (Jerusalem) started on Tuesday at al-Assad Library in Damascus.

The Conference is held by the Ministry of Awqaf (Religious Endowment) with the participation of scholars from Palestine, Lebanon, Jordan and Syria.

The first session is entitled ‘al-Quds and al-Aqsa Mosque’, it will discuss issues related to al-Quds, the role of the Islamic nation’s scholars in supporting al-Quds, Syria’s resistant role in defending al-Quds and the occupied Arab territories, judaization of al-Quds and the Israeli violations of al-Aqsa Mosque and the holy sites.

The second session, under the title ‘The Role of Levant Scholars in this Stage’, discusses the conspiracy against Syria and the dangers of extremism and provocative fatwas (Rulings made by Muftis) on the Islamic nation in addition to the role of scholars in facing the conspiracy against Syria.

The third session is allocated for the final statement and recommendations.

Al-Bouti: Liberating al-Quds is a Holy Duty

Dr. Mohammad Said Ramadan al-Bouti on Tuesday said that liberating al-Quds (Jerusalem) is a sacred duty, adding that occupation can never transfer lands’ property regardless of its duration.

In a speech during the Scholar of the Levant Conference to support al-Quds, al-Bouti added that “Every Muslim, Arab or Foreigner, and Every Arab person, Muslim or Christian, should sacrifice his life for al-Quds”.

Al-Bouti highlighted that the Islamic State liberated al-Quds from the Romans, who occupied al-Quds for several centuries, and restored it to its rightful people of Muslims, Christians and Jews.

KILIS, Turkey — The bloody conflict in Syria spilled across two tense borders Monday when gunfire from government forces killed a cameraman in Lebanon and wounded at least six people in a refugee camp in Turkey, authorities said. The violence came as a U.N.-brokered truce plan set to take effect on Tuesday all but collapsed, bolstering fears that the uprising could spark a broader conflagration by sucking in neighboring countries. International envoy Kofi Annan brokered a cease-fire, but the plan is in tatters. Syrian troops were meant to pull out of population centers by Tuesday morning, but President Bashar Assad’s government on Sunday introduced a new, last-minute demand — saying forces cannot withdraw without written guarantees from opposition fighters that they will lay down their arms. Syria’s main rebel group, the Free Syrian Army, rejected the government’s demand for a written guarantee, but says it will abide by its promise under Annan’s plan to stop fighting — as long as the regime does too. “We as protectors of the Syrian people announce a cease-fire against the regime’s army starting on the morning of April 10 and we will stick to this promise if the regime abides by the clauses of the initiative,” a member of the FSA’s military council said in a YouTube video.

The Syrian opposition and Western leaders had been skeptical all along that Assad would live up to his commitment to a truce because he broke similar promises in the past and escalated attacks on opposition strongholds in the days leading up to the cease-fire deadline. In the latest violence, Ali Shaaban, a cameraman for the Al Jadeed television station, was filming in Lebanon’s northern Wadi Khaled area when a bullet pierced his chest, Lebanese security officials said. The gunfire came from the nearby Syrian village of Armouta, the officials said. Shaaban, who was born in 1980, died on the way to the hospital, the officials said on condition of anonymity in line with regulations. His colleague, reporter Hussein Khreis, said the team heard heavy gunfire around them from all sides “falling like rain.” Shaaban was inside a car when he was struck, Khreis said.

“If you see the car, you would think it was in a war zone,” Khreis said on Al Jadeed TV. “It is completely destroyed from the bullets.” He said they waited for more than two hours for the Lebanese army and some residents to come and pull them out to safety. “I ask forgiveness from Ali’s family because I couldn’t do anything for him,” he said, breaking into tears. Al Jadeed said that Syrian security officials dressed in civilian clothes fired more than 40 bullets at their staff, who were on Lebanese soil. Al Jadeed said on its Arabic Twitter account that the Lebanese military retrieved Shaaban’s body from near the border. The post on Twitter quoted a staff member as saying they had received threats from members of the Syrian army who were armed and dressed in civilian clothes. Earlier in the day, Syrian forces fired across the border into a refugee camp in Turkey, wounding at least five people, authorities said. The soldiers were apparently firing at rebels who tried to escape to the refugee camp after ambushing a military checkpoint, according to the Britain-based activist group Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, which cited a network of sources on the ground.

The scale of the onslaught was such that it is hard to come by casualty figures, but they certainly run into hundreds.

The mountains of ordnance and numbers of tanks and artillery the Syrian army is pouring into the embattled sectors attest to Assad’s determination to root out with no holds barred the last rebel and protester however long it takes. He probably never intended standing by his commitment to observe a ceasefire from April 10. He simply used the UN envoy Kofi Annan’s peace proposals to buy time to rout his opponents once and for all. Our military sources say the rebels, and especially the Free Syrian Army, don’t have the slightest chance of surviving Assad’s killing machine.
As he lifts all restraints, the Syrian ruler is also certain he is backed to the hilt by Tehran and Moscow.

Our sources add that, just as Iranians is sure President Barack Obama will avoid military intervention in Syria, they are certain that their nuclear program is equally safe from a military offensive. Tehran was therefore emboldened Sunday to reject out of hand the core demands of the West to give up high-grade uranium enrichment and shut down their underground nuclear facility at Fordow.

So as not to bury the negotiations with the six world powers before they even begin on – the Iranian spokesman, atomic energy chief Fereidoon Abbasi left the door open a tiny crack: “We will produce 20 percent uranium to the amount needed for the Tehran research reactor and the reactors we are planning to build in the future,” he said. That too was a typical Iranian exercise in deception. Since no one in the West has a clue to how many reactors requiring 20-percent uranium Tehran plans to build, the size of its stocks and the quantity reserved for building a bomb cannot be determined.
Nevertheless, the European foreign policy chief Catherine Ashton later announced formally that the talks between the Six Powers and Iran would begin in Istanbul on April 14.

Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez wept and asked God to spare his life during a pre-Easter Mass on Thursday after returning from his latest session of cancer treatment in Cuba.

In a televised speech to the Catholic service in his home state of Barinas, Chavez cried and his voice broke as he eulogised Jesus, revolutionary fighter Ernesto “Che” Guevara and South American independence hero Simon Bolivar.

“Never forget that we are the children of giants…I could not avoid some tears,” the former soldier said, his parents and other relatives looking on from the church rows.

“Give me your crown, Jesus. Give me your cross, your thorns so that I may bleed. But give me life, because I have more to do for this country and these people. Do not take me yet,” Chavez added, standing below an image of Jesus with the Crucifix.

Praise to Abba for providing the means for the six families that have purchased this property. Families from South Carolina, California, Louisiana, Tennessee, Ohio and Texas purchased this land and will own it free and clear with a closing date at the end of this month. None of them knew one another but they all knew the Holy One. What a blessing!

In short, the families got a price per acre that was close to HALF of what was anticipated. The property is 48+ acres and has about 1700 feet of spring fed creek, pasture land, rolling hills and beautiful wooded areas. The water is so clean you can drink from it!

The families, including our own realize that we have all been blessed FAR beyond our means and want to help many others in this process that can seem overwhelming. None of the parties involved were wealthy…fiscally. These are mostly middle to lower income families.

Turkish prime minister Tayyip Erdogan’s talks with Iran’s supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei Thursday, March 29 were closed to the press, but a statement published on Khamenei’s official website said he told Erdoğan that Iran strongly opposes any foreign intervention in Syria’s conflict and will defend Damascus so that it can continue to be a center of “resistance” against Israel.
Twelve hours later, Iran’s Lebanese stooge, Hizballah’s Hassan Nasrallah, interrupted his Friday night sermon to declare triumphantly: “The die in Syria is cast. Talk of military intervention is over. There is no more talk about arming the opposition or about toppling the regime!”
Saturday, the Syrian Foreign Ministry spokesman Jihad Makdisi announced, “The battle to topple the state is over, and the battle to solidify stability and move towards a renewed Syria has begun.”

“The Covenant With Many” of Daniel 9:27

Hi all. This is from Joe Dumond’s latest newsletter (original here) and proposes an answer to the question of the covenant “confirmed with many” in Daniel 9:27. It is long, so take your time. I’m not making any statement as to the accuracy or otherwise, but I post it here for consideration.

Joe writes:

“One of the things that I have been teaching is that 1996, the first year of this the last Jubilee cycle, was also the year that the covenant was to be made between the Beast Power and the many other nations as we are told in Daniel.

Dan 9:27 “And he shall confirm a covenant with many for one week.”

The Word for week is;
H7620 שׁבעה שׁבע שׁבוּע shâbûa‛ shâbûa‛ shebû‛âh shaw-voo’-ah, shaw-voo’-ah, shev-oo-aw’
Properly passive participle of H7650 as a denominative of H7651; literally sevened, that is, a week (specifically of years): – seven, week.

This is the last Shabua. A shabua is a 49 year Jubilee cycle and this is the last 49 year period which began in 1996 and goes to 2044 the 49th year in this Jubilee cycle. 2045 is the beginning of the 7th millennium.

In Daniel we are told of this covenant. But for years I have not been able to learn what this covenant is. That was until this past Shabbat when Lora Skeahan found it and shared it with us. I thank her for her diligent research and hard work to learn this and share it with us.

Here is the synopsis of what this covenant says which 179 of our nations have already signed and agreed to and are already implementing. What began as suggestions and was voluntary is now becoming law and is punishable by those who wrote it upon those who do not agree to it. North America has signed away it’s liberty and freedom and no one even knows it.

New Treaty In the Making
Covenant on Environment and Development

(from eco-logic January/February, 1998)

Few people in America have seen Agenda 21. Even fewer have read it. It is a 288-page document, consisting of 40 chapters replete with “recommendations” that affect virtually every aspect of human life. Taken together, the recommendations, when fully implemented, constitute what is called “sustainable development.” Agenda 21 is the Action Plan adopted at UNCED — the United Nations Conference on Environment and Development — in Rio de Janeiro in 1992. The United States was one of 179 nations that signed the document. It is a “soft-law document,” meaning that it is not legally binding, and therefore, Congress has no reason to review or approve its content. Nevertheless, the recommendations contained in Agenda 21 are being implemented through two separate, but coordinated, initiatives: the President’s Council on Sustainable Development (PCSD), and the International Council for Local Environmental Initiatives (ICLEI). Implementation is occurring through the promulgation of rules by federal agencies, and through the development of plans for “sustainable communities” at the local level. Recommendations from Agenda 21 are being implemented without the benefit of public debate by elected officials. Though many communities do not recognize it as such, a well-coordinated national effort is underway to transform America to conform to the principles set forth in Agenda 21.

Although Agenda 21 is a soft-law document, it was, from the start, intended to be the precursor of an all-encompassing UN Treaty. The most recent iteration of that treaty has now been obtained and reviewed. It is called, in its present form, “Draft International Covenant on Environment and Development.” It is organized into 11 parts, containing a total of 72 Articles. It will convert the “soft-law” recommendations of Agenda 21, into legally binding “hard” international law.

Before examining the document itself, it is helpful to realize that the procedure for making international law has evolved since 1948 and is now recognized by the international community as the norm. The introduction to the Draft Covenant says:

“The progression of legal principles from recommendatory `soft’ to legally clear `hard’ is well known in international law. For example, the 1948 Universal Declaration of Human Rights, a `soft law’ instrument, was the precursor to the two 1966 UN Covenants on Human Rights.”

Similarly, the Vienna Convention on Ozone Depleting Substances was adopted and ratified as a treaty which required only that nations “monitor” substances thought to be ozone-depleting. The Conference of the Parties, then adopted the Montreal Protocol which made the treaty legally binding. The same process is being used to convert the “voluntary” Framework Convention on Climate Change into a legally binding “hard law” document through the Kyoto Protocol. The Covenant on Environment and Development is following the same path.

The first call for an international treaty on environment and development came from the 1983 World Commission on Environment and Development, also known as the “Brundtland Commission.” Their final report, published in 1987, entitled Our Common Future, recommended that the United Nations prepare

“a new and legally-binding universal Convention [which] should consolidate existing and establish new legal principles, and set out the associated rights and responsibilities of States individually and collectively for securing environmental protection and sustainable development to the year 2000 and beyond.”

The International Union for the Conservation of Nature (IUCN) assembled a working group under its Commission on Environmental Law (CEL), under the chairmanship of Dr. Wolfgang E. Burhenne, in November,1989. They produced a draft text containing 88 provisions. A second meeting of the IUCN group met in March 1991, under the chairmanship of Dr. Parvez Hassan. The Draft Covenant was translated into six official languages recognized by the UN and provided to PrepComm Working Group III, then preparing for UNCED in Rio. The evolving Covenant then became the basis for the development of Agenda 21.

From the start, Agenda 21 was intended to be a “soft law” document. Therefore, its ideas are presented in the form of recommendations with do discussion at all of compliance and enforcement. The Draft Covenant, however, does address those issues. A third meeting of the IUCN group was held shortly after UNCED to incorporate ideas presented in Rio into the Covenant. Two more meetings occurred, in April and September 1993. Both the Chairs of the IUCN’s Ethics Commission and the IUCN’s Species Survival Commission were invited to participate. The drafting committee met again in April, and September, 1994. While the IUCN is clearly the driving force behind the document, other organizations that participated in the development of the Covenant included the International Council of Environmental Law (ICEL); and the United Nations Environmental Programme’s Environmental Law and Institutions Programme Activity Center (UNEP/ELIPAC).

The current Draft Covenant was completed March, 1995, in Bonn, Germany.

Like all recent UN Treaties, the language is somewhat vague and seeks to establish principles which may be interpreted in the future by the treaty’s Conference of the Parties. Part I, Article 1 sets forth the Covenant’s objective:

“The objective of this Covenant is to achieve environmental conservation and sustainable development by establishing integrated rights and obligations.”

The casual reader might miss the import of this Article: “…by establishing integrated rights and obligations.” This Article clearly illustrates the difference between the UN’s concept of governance and America’s concept of governance. America recognizes that humans have certain “inalienable” rights, among which is the right to create a government controlled by the people who are governed through representatives who are elected by the people who are governed. Inalienable rights are limited; obligations are accepted in America only with the consent of the people who are governed. The People who are governed retain the right to cast off any limitation on their rights or any obligation they may have previously accepted, simply by electing a new batch of representatives.

The Covenant, on the other hand, assumes that “rights” are granted by government, and that people to whom rights are granted “owe” certain obligations to government as may be prescribed by government. This concept of governance is the prevailing view held by most of the world. The American view is beyond the comprehension of most of the world’s peoples. Even in nations that are described as “social democracies,” it is assumed that government is the source of human rights. This is an exceedingly important principle of governance that America has failed to advance in the international community. In fact, the UN’s concept of governance is eroding the traditional American view of governance every time America embraces a UN treaty. The President’s Council on Sustainable Development, too, is operating on the UN principle, by-passing Congress and other elected officials, as it implements the recommendations of Agenda 21.

Part II of the Covenant includes Articles 2 through 10 which set forth the primary principles on which the Covenant is based. Most of the principles are at odds with traditional American values. For example, Article 2 declares that:

“Nature as a whole warrants respect; every form of life is unique and is to be safeguarded independent of its value to humanity.”

This principle replaces the anthropocentric world view with a biocentric world view. Historically, Americans have believed that human life is the supreme value aside from the creator of all life; that human beings are at the top of the food chain. Americans have believed that human beings are creation’s crowning jewel, that, ultimately, all species (natural resources) are available for human use. The biocentric world view holds that humans have no value greater than any other species and that all species — including humans — have equal rights. This biocentric view has been officially adopted by the U.S. Department of Interior, which, in its Ecosystem Management Policy, states that “in all ecosystem management activity, human beings shall be considered as a biological resource.”

The “Precautionary Principle” is codified in Article 7. The same idea is expressed in Principle 15 of Agenda 21. It is the idea that policy action should not wait on scientific justification if “government” decides that a “threat” to the environment exists. Article 8 (Principle 3 in Agenda 21) declares that the “right” to development is accompanied by the “obligation” to meet environmental and “equity” needs — as determined by non-elected government policy makers. Article 10 writes into international law “The elimination of unsustainable patterns of production and consumption…” again, as determined by non-elected government policy makers. Maurice Strong, Secretary-General of UNCED, and now, Executive Coordinator of UN Reform, declared in Rio that single family homes, air conditioning, and automobiles — are not sustainable.

Part III sets forth the general obligations. Article 11 declares that “States have, in accordance with the Charter of the United Nations and the principles of international law, the sovereign right to utilize their resources….” This article clearly establishes the United Nations Charter and the “principles of international law” as superior to national sovereignty. Moreover, the Article also sets forth specific “obligations” which include the obligation to “protect and preserve the environment.”

Article 12 describes the obligations of individuals: “All persons have a duty to protect and preserve the environment.” Article 13 requires “Parties shall pursue sustainable development policies aimed at the eradication of poverty…[and] the conservation of biological diversity.”

Part IV (Articles 16 through 22) says States “shall restrict human activities which modify, or are likely to modify…” stratospheric ozone, global climate, the soil, water, natural systems, biological diversity, and cultural and natural heritage. Part V, in three Articles, deals with measures to prevent environmental harm, pollution, waste generation, and the introduction of “alien” organisms.

Part VI deals with global issues. Article 27 focuses on “demographic” policies. Each state Party is required to “provide to their populations full information on the options concerning family planning.” Article 28 requires “strategies to reduce or eliminate unsustainable patterns of consumption.” Article 29 requires the eradication of poverty and “food security.” Article 30 requires pricing of raw materials and commodities to “reflect the full direct and indirect social and environmental costs of their extraction, production, transport, marketing, and disposal.”

Responsibility and Liability

The Covenant is quite comprehensive. It writes into “hard” international law virtually all of the recommendations of Agenda 21, and many new ideas. Part IX deals with “Responsibility and Liability.” The following articles speak for themselves.

Article 47 – State Responsibility

“Each State Party is responsible under international law for the breach of its obligations under this Covenant or of other rules of international law concerning the environment.”

Article 48 – State Liability

“Each State Party is liable for significant harm to the environment of other States or of areas beyond the limits of national jurisdiction, as well as for injury to persons resulting therefrom, caused by acts or omissions of its organs or by activities under its jurisdiction or control.”

Article 49 – Cessation, Restitution and Compensation

“Each State Party shall cease activities causing significant harm to the environment…. Where that is not possible, the State Party of the origin of the harm shall provide compensation or other remedy for the harm.”

Article 50 – Consequences of Failure to Prevent Harm

“Each State Party may be held responsible for significant harm to the environment resulting from its failure to carry out the obligations of prevention contained in this Covenant, in respect to its activities or those of its nationals.”

Article 52 – Civil Remedies

“Parties shall ensure the availability of effective civil remedies that provide for cessation of harmful activities as well as for compensation to victims of environmental harm irrespective of the nationality or the domicile of the victims.”

Article 53 – Recourse under Domestic Law and Non-Discrimination

“Each State Party of origin shall ensure that any person in another State Party who is adversely affected by transboundary environmental harm has the right of access to administrative and judicial procedures equal to that afforded nationals or residents of the State Party of origin in cases of domestic environmental harm.”

Article 54 – Sovereign Immunity

“Parties may not claim sovereign immunity in respect of proceedings instituted under this Covenant.”

Article 55 – Beyond National Jurisdiction

“The provisions of Articles 47 to 54 may be invoked by any affected person for harm to the environment of areas beyond national jurisdiction.”

Disputes arising from the Covenant are to be settled either by an arbitral tribunal, the Permanent Court of Arbitration, the International Court of Justice, and the International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea. As has become the custom of UN Treaties, Article 69 provides that “No reservations may be made to this Covenant.”

This is the UN Treaty that will move the world into the clutches of global governance. All the other “soft law” documents and specific purpose treaties are simply steps toward global governance. The Covenant on Environment and Development clearly identifies the destination to which all the other documents are leading. Our State Department is fully aware of this Covenant, and the other activities of the IUCN which has developed this Covenant. In fact, the U.S. State Department contributes more than $1 million per year to the IUCN, a non-governmental organization (NGO), that coordinates the activity of more than 700 other NGOs toward the development and implementation of global governance.

It is not yet known when the UN intends to roll-out this Covenant for public consideration. The Millennium celebration planned for the year 2000, during which the first meeting of the new “Assembly of the People” will meet, could be the occasion. The Assembly of the People will consist of selected representatives from NGOs that are “accredited” by the United Nations. Global governance is not an event that will occur on a day certain in the future. It is a process that has been underway for several years and will become a fact before most Americans realize that it is a threat.

In the above document we just read the following line;

In Revelation is a strange scripture that I want you to read especially after reading this Agenda 21 treaty. It is telling us that even in war they will be concerned with the trees as they kill each other.

Even in all of this coming mayhem the armies of Satan are told to protect the grass and all trees and anything green. This has been so strange to me to read until now when I see this agenda 21. It is becoming clearer each day.

In order to protect the environment these laws will be enforced on those nations who break them. And even in the time of war the armies are going to have to abide by this same safe the trees campaign.

Brethren you have now read the covenant that is made with many for this the last Shabua which began in 1996. It was signed in Germany and is to protect the environment at all cost, even if that cost is war. What was a soft law is now becoming a hard and fast law and more are coming as more time passes.

The U.N. Plan for Your “Sustainable” Community

The Local Agenda 21 Planning Guide — a UN manual for global transformation (which I brought home from the 1996 UN Conference on Human Settlements in Istanbul) was prepared by The International Council for Local Environmental Initiatives (ICLEI). Community leaders around the world are now called to implement a new “Communitarian” system of governance which overrides our constitutional rights and freedoms.

“Land…cannot be treated as an ordinary asset, controlled by individuals and subject to the pressures and inefficiencies of the market. Private land ownership is also a principal instrument of accumulation and concentration of wealth and therefore contributes to social injustice; if unchecked, it may become a major obstacle in the planning and implementation of development schemes. Public control of land use is therefore indispensable….” (Item #10 in the UN agenda at the 1976 Habitat 1. American delegates supported this policy)

These three updates illustrate United Nations’ “progress” toward implementation of its Marxist agenda:

1. The United Nations bans opposition to its Global Tax Design. “When United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon announced his plan ‘to fundamentally transform the global economy — based on low-carbon, clean energy resources,’ few realized he was calling for a new global tax to be designed without public scrutiny…. The UN’s one nation, one vote system has been used since its founding to render the U.S. impotent, regardless of the fact that we are its major financial donor. ….Banning the press and global tax opponents from its July 13-14 tax design meeting in Tokyo, Japan, for example, is anathema to a democratic process, but the UN is not a democracy. Rather, its unelected bureaucrats use a ‘collaborative decision-making process’ to reach ‘consensus’ with no debate or expressed opposition…..

“The purpose of the Fund is to enable the UN to implement its global blueprint for sustainable development called Agenda 21. This green agenda is the new Marxism that requires government ensured economic equity…. In the U.S., federal and state legislatures were bypassed when then-President Clinton signed an executive order to create the President’s Council on Sustainable Development to implement Agenda 21. Federal grants continue to flow to local governments to carry out the UN’s green agenda across America.

“Granting the UN the right to tax would be like giving it a blank check for future use. 2. The New ‘White House Rural Council’ = UN’s Agenda 21? “On June 9, 2011, President Obama signed his 86th Executive Order….E.O 13575 is designed to begin taking control over almost all aspects of the lives of 16% of the American people. [Ponder the new policies:]

Section 1. Policy. Sixteen percent of the American population lives in rural counties. Strong, sustainable rural communities are essential to winning the future and ensuring American competitiveness in the years ahead…. The Federal Government has an important role to play in order to expand access to the capital necessary for economic growth, promote innovation, improve access to health care and education, and expand outdoor recreational activities on public lands.’

“Warning bells should have been sounding all across rural America when the phrase ’sustainable rural communities’ came up. As we know from researching the UN plan for Sustainable Development known as Agenda 21, these are code words for the true fundamental transformation America.” But how will burdened farmers and other tax-payers pay the extra costs — especially in light of our government’s massive debt?”

3. Democrats Bury ‘Community Transformation’ Plans in Health Care Bill. [11-6-09]: “In the bill, the Affordable Health Choices Act, community transformation plans would be carried out using federal money and be overseen by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). The CDC would distribute the money as well as coordinate the various state, local, and ‘community’ entities responsible for carrying out the plans.

“…both state and local governments are eligible for the grants, as are ‘national networks of community-based organizations’…. The transformation plans must include ‘activities’ for all ages, beginning in public schools, which focus on eating healthy food, adequate amounts of physical activity….’Every time our friends on the other side start talking about community organizations, we usually think ACORN…”

“Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:6-7

“…current lifestyles and consumption patterns of the affluent middle class – involving high meat intake use of fossil fuels, appliances, home and work-place air-conditioning, and suburban housing – are not sustainable. Agenda 21, the UN blueprint for global transformation, sounds good to many well meaning people. Drafted for the purpose of creating “sustainable societies”, it has been welcomed by nations around the world. Political, cultural, and media leaders have embraced its alluring visions of social justice and a healthy planet. They hide the lies behind its doomsday scenarios and fraudulent science. Relatively few consider the contrary facts and colossal costs.

After all, what could be wrong with preserving resources for the next generation? Why not limit consumption and reduce energy use? Why not abolish poverty and establish a global welfare system to train parents, monitor intolerance, and meet all our needs? Why not save the planet by trading cars for bikes, an open market for “self-sustaining communities,” and single dwellings for dense “human settlements” (located on transit lines) where everyone would dialogue, share common ground, and be equal?

The answer is simple. Marxist economics has never worked. Socialism produces poverty, not prosperity. Collectivism creates oppression, not freedom. Trusting environmental “scientists” who depend on government funding and must produce politically useful “information” will lead to economic and social disaster. 3

Even so, local and national leaders around the world are following the UN blueprint for global management and “sustainable communities,” and President Clinton is leading the way. A letter I received from The President’s Council on Sustainable Development states that -

“In April 1997, President Clinton asked the council to advise him on: next steps in building a new environmental management system for the 21st century… and policies that foster U.S. leadership on sustainable development internationally. The council was also charged to ensure that social equity issues are fully integrated…” (Emphasis added)

Many of our representatives are backing his plan. In a 1997 letter congratulating the Local Agenda 21 Advisory Board in Santa Cruz for completing their Action Plan, Congressman Sam Farr wrote,

“The Local Agenda 21 Action Plan not only has local significance, it also will have regional and national impacts. As you know, the President’s Council on Sustainable Development is beginning Phase III of its work with an emphasis on sustainable communities.”4 (emphasis added)

This agenda may already be driving your community “development”, so be alert to the clues. Notice buzzwords such as “visioning,” “partners,” and “stakeholders.” Know how to resist the consensus process. Ask questions, but don’t always trust the answers. Remember, political activists, like self-proclaimed education “change agents”, have put expediency above integrity. As North Carolina school superintendent Jim Causby said at a 1994 international model school conference, “We have actually been given a course in how not to tell the truth. You’ve had that course in public relations where you learn to put the best spin on things.”5

To recognize and resist this unconstitutional shadow government of laws and regulations being imposed on our nation without congressional approval, take a closer look at its history and nature.

Agenda 21
This global contract binds governments around the world to the UN plan for changing the ways we live, eat, learn, and communicate – all under the noble banner of saving the earth. Its regulations would severely limit water, electricity, and transportation – even deny human access to our most treasured wilderness areas. If implemented, it would manage and monitor all lands and people. No one would be free from the watchful eye of the new global tracking and information system

This agenda for the 21st Century was signed by 179 nations at the UN Conference on Environment and Development in Rio de Janeiro in 1992. Among other things, it called for a Global Biodiversity Assessment of the state of the planet. Prepared by the UN Environmental Program (UNEP), this GBA armed UN leaders with the “information” and “science” they needed to validate their global management system. Its doomsday predictions were designed to excuse radical population reduction, oppressive lifestyle regulations, and a coercive return to earth-centered religions as the basis for environmental values and self-sustaining human settlements.

The GBA concluded on page 763 that “the root causes of the loss of biodiversity are embedded in the way societies use resources.” The main culprit? Judeo-Christian values. Chapter 12.2.3 states that-

“This world view is characteristic of large scale societies, heavily dependent on resources brought from considerable distances. It is a world view that is characterized by the denial of sacred attributes in nature, a characteristic that became firmly established about 2000 years ago with the Judeo-Christian-Islamic religious traditions.

“Eastern cultures with religious traditions such as Buddhism, Jainism and Hinduism did not depart as drastically from the perspective of humans as members of a community of beings including other living and non-living elements.”

Maurice Strong, who led the Rio conference, seems to agree. His ranch in Colorado is a gathering place for Buddhist, Bahai, Native American, and other earth-centered religions. Yet, while spearheading the restructuring of the United Nations (see ” World Heritage Protection?”), he also helped design the blueprint for the transformation of our communities. And in his introduction to The Local Agenda 21 Planning Guide, he called local leaders around the world to “undertake a consultative process with their populations and achieve a consensus on ‘Local Agenda 21′ for their communities.”

Achieving that consensus meant painting scary scenarios of a hurting, dying planet that frighten children, anger youth, and persuade adults to submit to the unthinkable regulations. (See “Saving the Earth”) It means blaming climate change on human activities and ignoring the natural factors that have – throughout time – brought cyclical changes in climate, storm patterns, wildlife migration, and ozone thinning (there has never been a “hole”).”

Ankara announced it plans to purchase 100 F-35 joint strike fighters in a move that could erode Israel’s regional air superiority.

Officials in Ankara on Thursday announced that Turkey plans to purchase 100 F-35 Joint Strike Fighters worth $16 billion.

“Turkey plans to buy 100 F-35 Joint Strike Fighters, two of which will be delivered in 2015,” Defense Minister Ismet Yilmaz told the daily Milliyet.

Turkey has long planned to purchase about 100 jets to replace its ageing F-4 and F-16 fleet, but increasing costs have hampered the acquisitions.

The Joint Strike Fighter, manufactured by Lockheed Martin, is the Pentagon’s most expensive weapons program ever.

The U.S. defense department plans to buy more than 2,400 of the aircraft at a cost of about 385 billion dollars. The cost of each plane is now well over $100 million.

Turkey’s announcement comes as Israeli officials wrangle over the defense budget. Senior military officials say the 2012 increase of NIS 3 billion (approx. $800 million) is insufficient to meet growing security demands.

Israel has relied on flexibility, initiative and mobility to handle security and make up for less quantity with quality, but the upheaval of the Arab Spring and rising tensions with Iran have underscored growing defense needs.

Of principle concern is enlarging and modernizing armor and mechanized infantry forces for territorial defense, and obtaining strategic weapons platforms, allowing Israel to reach into what defense officials call the “third sphere” – namely, the Indian Ocean and Persian Gulf.

Israel has purchased 20 F-35s and has an option on 75 more. However, the high cost of the fighter has proven prohibitive, despite Israel’s long reliance on air superiority to balance the scales against more numerous enemies.

In late January, IAF chief Ido Nechustan said, “The process of strengthening air force capabilities taking place around us, in the Middle East, is among the most extensive in the world, including the procurement of aircraft and advanced technological measures.”

“Some of these processes represent a challenge to the IDF’s air superiority. We will have to endeavor onwards in order to preserve this superiority,” he added.

Railing against insufficient defense spending, Nechustan said, “we would lose our air superiority. Our advantage is not just in technology, but also in the perception and realization of the technologies in the battlefield.”

The Pentagon decision to sell Ankara a large quantity of F-35s after it downgraded relations with Jerusalem amid a row over the 2010 Mavi Marmara incident has led some to question the Obama administration’s motives for the sale.

While Obama has often declared his “unshakable commitment” to Israeli security, the sale could have a significant negative impact on Israel’s qualitative technological advantage on the battlefield.

US officials have long sought to ensure Israel maintained a qualitative technological advantage – especially in terms of air power – over neighboring countries.

Under the Obama administration, however, sales of strategic weapons platforms to Israel’s enemies that erode Jerusalem’s battlefield advantage have become commonplace.

Assad government will not fall, says Iran

Syrian President Bashar Al Assad’s regime will not fall and Iran stands beside it, the top foreign policy adviser to supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said on Thursday.

“The Islamic Republic of Iran supports the Syrian government and will oppose those who act against Syria,” Ali Akbar Velayati said in remarks reported by the Fars news agency.

“The attempt to topple the Syrian government will not become reality and the front line of confrontation with the Zionist regime (Israel) will not disappear,” he said.

Velayati said Syria — Iran’s principal ally in the Middle East — would resist what was deemed to be foreign interference by the United States to bring down Assad’s regime.

” America has targeted the most sensitive area of the resistance axis, not knowing that Iran, Iraq and Hezbollah are firmly standing by Syria,” he said.

Velayati said, however, that Iran was urging Syria to adopt reforms as it confronts an uprising that erupted in March last year.

“There are problems in Syria and with its governing methods,” he acknowledged. “Iran has repeatedly advised Syria to implement needed reforms and they have carried out that task reasonably,” he said.

Today, we are living in the greatest debt bubble that the world has ever seen, and if all of a sudden people could not use credit to buy things our economy would immediately ground to a halt. Unfortunately, no debt bubble can last forever. When this current debt bubble finally bursts, faith in the financial system is going to disappear, credit is going to freeze up and there is going to be a massive wave of bank failures. Right now, Greece is a warning sign for the world. Nobody wants to lend money to Greece, the Greek banking system is dying, one out of every four businesses has already shut down, unemployment is soaring and the Greek economy has now been in recession for five years in a row. Sadly, the economic implosion in Greece is rapidly accelerating. The Greek economy shrunk at a 7 percent annual rate during the 4th quarter of 2011. That wasn’t supposed to happen. Things were supposed to be getting better in Greece by now. But instead the Greek depression is getting even worse, and very soon the rest of the world is going to be going through what Greece is currently experiencing…”

Muslims: Israel to Give Half of al Aqsa to Jews

Al Aqsa Center says that Israel will create a Jewish section of Al Aqsa, similar to Hevron’s Cave of Patriarchs

The Al Aqsa Center has released a statement saying that it has received information that Israel plans to divide up the Temple Mount into separate Jewish and Muslim sections, in the same way that the Cave of the Patriarchs in Hevron is divided.

According to the statement, as reported by the Elder of Zion blog, Jews would then be able to perform “Talmudic rituals” (i.e., pray) in the sacred site.

The Al Aqsa report goes on to say that Israeli police plan to use the new arrangement to cleanse the Temple Mount of Muslims under flimsy pretexts.

According to another plan “revealed” by the Al Aqsa Center, Jews will freely enter the mosque between 8 a.m. and 11 a.m., between Muslim prayer times. These alleged plans will be implemented this year.

Dozens of Arab stoned Christian tourists and police on the Temple Mount Sunday morning, a day after a former Muslim Mufti warned of a possible “break-in” by Jews.

Elder of Zion notes, “There is only one reason why these rumors are started — to keep Jews off of the holiest site in Judaism. They want to stir up riots because, according to these defenders of Islam, it is better than no one go to the Temple Mount than to allow Jewish ‘filth’ from ‘desecrating’ it.

“These incitements have worked in the past, so the Al Aqsa defenders will keep churning out the lies that Arab Muslims are more than happy to believe, fed by hateful terrorist-supporting media like Palestine Today.”

Jews who ascend to the Temple Mount today are not even allowed to pray at this holiest site for Judaism, as it is considered an incendiary action that can provoke Muslim rioting.

Punctuation makes all the difference

As you may or may not be aware, there is no punctuation (at least, not like we have in English) in biblical Greek or biblical Hebrew. Both languages rely on context to get the meaning across. This can be the cause of some ambiguity and confusion when we translate from those languages into English. Translators must make informed decisions as to how to punctuate the sentence in order for it to make sense and, often enough, there can be more than one possible reading. How then do they make their decision? They are, after all, only human. Is is possible then that they allow their own beliefs and doctrines to influence how they translate the text? Some would say, “yes”.

This article demonstrates just such a case. When you’re reading this, if you disagree with it, ask yourself, “why?” Is it because of what you’ve been taught,according to the traditions of men, or because of your own study of the text (in its original language and context)? Or for some other reason (e.g. “I just don’t like what that implies” or “it seems to contradict other scriptures”, if in fact it does). Be honest with yourself.

It would be fun to see if we can think of other passages where this may also apply; where the shifting of a comma, the addition of parentheses or some other change to the punctuation would significantly change the reading.

I’ll give you one example before we get to the article. An English teacher wrote the following sentence on the blackboard (these days it’s probably a whiteboard) and asked the students to punctuate it:

“A woman without her man is nothing”.

The boys punctuated it thus: “A woman, without her man, is nothing”.

Without exception, though, the girls punctuated it like this: “A woman; without her, man is nothing”.

A Comma Here, A Comma There

Today – When do we get to heaven? While the question certainly isn’t on the top shelf from a biblical point of view, evangelical Christianity seems to suggest that the answer to this question is of great importance. The long-held tradition that we arrive at the pearly gates the very instant our physical bodies cease functioning in this world is a sacred cow for most believers. Therefore, when we notice that first century Jewish thinking considers death as a long sleep before Judgment Day, we point to a verse like this one and claim that out loved ones aren’t sleeping in the grave. They are already with the Lord waiting our arrival or His return.

But what happened if we move the comma?

Neither Greek nor Hebrew have punctuation. Added commas help English readers, but where to put the comma is the decision of the translator, not the reflection of the text. What happens to our sacred cow belief if the comma is moved like this: “Truly I say to you today, you will be with Me is Paradise.” Ah, yes, things change, don’t they?

What justification do we have for suggesting that the comma might be in the wrong place? After all, when Yeshua speaks an opening line like “Truly I say to you,” the comma usually follows immediately. To justify moving it we need to look at both the Greek text and the probably Hebrew statement.

In the Greek text, the literal translation reads, “Amen I say to you today with me you will be in Paradise.” In Greek the non-existent comma could be added in either position. The statement to the crucified man makes just as much contextual sense either way. In Hebrew, things are slightly different. In the Hebrew Delitzsch Gospels, the text reads “and speaking Yeshua to him Amen Amen say I to you the day will be with me in Gan-Eden.” You’ll notice that the word for today includes the definite article (ha-yom), rendered “this day.” The double amen amen is the signal that something very significant follows. But there is still no compelling reason to conclude that Yeshua didn’t say, “I say to you this day,” rather than “I say to you, this day.” In other words, the only reason to add the comma between “you” and “this day” is a prior theological belief that Paradise is the immediate consequence of death. But that prior theological belief isn’t in the text and it doesn’t seem to be a part of the first century Jewish understanding of heaven. If we read the verse in its first century Jewish context, we can rightly conclude that Yeshua would have intended the man would sleep until the day of Judgment, just like all other men.

There is just one more thing. The Hebrew ha-yom could also be rendered “that day.” If this is the correct translation, then Yeshua assures him that on that day, he will enter Gan-Eden. He will not be cut off. And this, of course, fits the Jewish context.

What can we conclude? It’s simple. Commas do not make doctrines. We must be far more careful to read the text in its own context rather than adding ours. Does this make you wonder how many of your theological beliefs depend on punctuation?

4. Does the AC’s behavior also play a role in determining the usage of “ante” whether it be “instead of” versus in “opposition to?”
5. Is relying on what is visible and subsequently placing your trust, destiny in its hands ALSO the embodiment of an abrogation of faith?
6. Can YHWH be limited and as a result contained by his own creation?
7. Can and have people seen angels\messengers from heaven in and outside of scripture?
8. How does echad(unity) differ from singularity, universality and coexistence?
9. What doctrines within Judaism, Christianity and Islam rapidly propel us toward the direction of “unity” outside of truth?

Think about these very hard as the answers to them ALSO show us the answers to much more important questions. Which will no doubt follow.

I was asked to comment on the image via Facebook but thought that the discourse that would follow warranted a better method of retreival rather than slipping into obsucrity after opposing sides get frustrated and move on to something else.

First, begin looking at the individual lives of those wanting to “expand their territory” to see if they own the territory they presently possess. Many people wanting to take on more wives are slaves themselves.

The Nuclear Family is CLEARLY the best model. Because we find people (sinful I might add) in the scriptures with wives and porcupines does not mean it is the proscribed method.

I recently took flack for defending a polygamist NOT because I agree with it but instead because the methods that were involved were smarmy. We will have MANY brothers and sisters in the kingdom that will have been in these relationships and we are to love them.

When we look at Abba’s creation BEFORE the fall we see the best way. From that point forward the human narrative has been about scrambling for things in this world to fill the void whether that be more wives, money, cars, followers, another man or countries boundary, etc…the wickedness is the same. Hell enlarges itself because man is never satisfied.

Is having multiple wives sin? It sure can be and many times it is! Especially if you are already a slave that possesses that for which you have not worked. We love to export slavery and not just with respect to this issue…many others. Most leaders of congregations are slaves, indentured servants and love to export that illness across the globe. They are slaves in their individual family microcosm and then get together on the weekends to duplicate the slavery with other slaves on a much larger scale.
