Great article Larry!
Let Assad use his chemical weapons on Israel just one time! It will be bye bye Damascus! Personally I know it goes against the predominant view of the blog but I believe it will also be bye bye Assad.

Daniel disagrees, he says that the king of the north (Damascus/Syria in Arabic are simply referred to as Ash-Sham which literally means “to the north” or “land of the north”…at least one Bible translation renders king of the north as king of Syria) after he attacks Israel and other countries (and after Damascus is destroyed) (Dan 11:45) …shall plant the tabernacles of his palace between the seas in the glorious holy mountain; yet he shall come to his end, and none shall help him. So, I agree, eventually it will be bye-bye Assad.

i disagree David it will not be bye bye Assad in my opinion and i like it how you said this following comment: “Let Assad use his chemical weapons on Israel just one time! It will be bye bye Damascus!” so are you now considering that Israel may be the one that nukes Damascus because i feel with 100% certainty that Isaiah 17 which says Isa 17:1 The burden of Damascus. Behold, Damascus is taken away from being a city, and it shall be a ruinous heap.
i believe that Israel will Strike Damascus and it looks like you may feel the same way about because i believe Yahweh will Use His own Nation Israel to do his bidding for Damascus.

Correct, there are tons of news articles and professional commentaries on the Internet that say that Assad is NOT going anywhere. Iran, Russia and China are betting on him to win…their interests are just too great. To say otherwise is simply ignorance and blindness.

I know you disagree. You have previously made that clear.
What I believe is what Scripture tells me. I do not wish to speculate on what He may choose to be the ax in His Hand.
I agree assad is a tyrant because no one needs Scripture to see that. It is in our faces.
I agree that Isaiah 17:1 makes it clear that Damascus will be destroyed.
However, Scripture says nothing about nukes on Damascus or anywhere else. Scripture says nothing about when or how Damascus will be removed from being a city.

Down through the ages men have speculated and set dates and predicted occurrences and attributed them to coming acts of El Shaddai and in the end were made to look like false prophets at worse and ignorant fools at best. I have no wish to join their ranks.
