Vatican City, Mar 28, 2010 / 08:30 pm (CNA/EWTN News).- Expressing his sorrow for the current situation in the Holy Land, Pope Benedict XVI hoped and prayed for peace in the region on Palm Sunday. He provided words of encouragement for Christians in the area and reflected on the nature of the pilgrim as a “messenger of peace.”
In his Italian-language greeting after the Angelus, the Pope drew attention to Jerusalem, Jesus’ destination in Sunday’s Liturgy. He said he is “profoundly pained” by the recent conflicts and tensions in the city, which he called “the spiritual homeland of Christians, Jews and Muslims.”
Sirt, Libya, SANA, The draft resolutions of the 22nd Arab Summit to start on Saturday in Sirt, Libya will condemn Israeli practices in the occupied Syrian Golan and in Jerusalem and expresses support to Syria’s demand and just right to restore all the occupied Golan to the line of June 4th, 1967 based on the peace process and UN resolutions.
Our brother HarvestGroup has requested a thread dealing with the deterioration of relations between the US and Israel. I believe we should begin now to get our facts together concerning not only the US but all the nations of the world who are actively rising up against Israel and aligning themselves with Syria and the “beast empire” of Islam! Not a day goes by that another world leader bows the knee to Assad or condemns Israel for one thing or another. Let’s make scriptural sense of all of this. It is quickly leading to the judgment of the nations spoken of by Zechariah.
